Asus has launched the world’s first laptop with two screens called the ZenBook Pro Duo at Computex 2019. The laptop’s second screen is placed above the keyboard area and acts as the extended display for the main one. Called as the ScreenPad Plus, it is a much bigger version to that is available with ZenBook Pro 15’s ‘Screenpad’ extending from one edge to another and as big as the area of the keyboard.
The laptop offers a 15.6-inch 4K UHD OLED HDR supporting touch screen. One can drag the window to the 14-inch 4K (3840×1100 with 32:9 aspect ratio) second screen and vice-versa, using the main screen. The main screen comprises of Asus’ NanoEdge design with slim bezels on all four sides and offers a NumberPad dual-function touchpad additionally. A stylus for performing various tasks such as drawing, writing and more is also on offer with the laptop. To make typing easier on the laptop, the manufacturer has offered a palm rest feature as well. In addition to a dedicated Turbo Fan button, Asus has also included its ErgoLift tech and the laptop comes powered by a 71Wh 4-cell Li-Po battery.
In terms of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Asus ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581) gets Alexa Voice support, while in terms of specifications, the laptop can be configured with either 9th-gen Intel Core i7 (9750H) or i9 (9980HK) processors (up to 5Ghz Turbo Boost) and 32GB DDR4 RAM along with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU and up to 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD for faster loading times and swift gaming. However, while a Thunderbolt 3-enabled USB Type-C (USB-C) port with 2xUSB 3-enabled USB Type-C (USB-C) port with 2xUSB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports standard HDMI, DC-in and Intel Wi-Fi 6 with Gig+ (802. 11ax) has been offered in the laptop, it does misses out on the SD card slot.
Other than these, the brand also offers another affordable version of the laptop with 14-inch model (UX481), which has an Intel Core i7 processor, FHD screen, 12.6-inch FHD ScreenPad Plus display, Nvidia GeForce MX250, up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM and a 70Wh 4-cell battery, though missing on the ThunderBolt 3 port.
