Realme is expected to hold a launch event on December 17 and now the company confirms that it will be launching the Realme Buds Air, its wireless earphones, at that launch event. The confirmation, which comes via a teaser the company shared on Twitter, appears days after Realme confirmed that it was going to launch wireless earphones by showing the photographs of senior executives, including India head Madhav Seth, wearing these earphones.
The design of the Realme Buds Air is extremely similar — or rather almost a copy — of the Apple AirPods. It has similar stalk, which rests against the cheek when the buds are in ear, and even has a similar s shiny ring around the stalk. The shape of buds too look similar, complete with extremely fine mesh for the speaker opening. And the Realme Buds Air seem to have shame glossy plastic finish.
One difference, however, is the colours in which the Realme Buds Air will be available. Unlike the Apple AirPods, which are only available in stark white, the Realme Buds Pro are likely to come in three colours: Black, White and Yellow.
At the same event where Realme launches the Realme Buds Air, the company is also likely to launch a new phone. The details of this new Realme phone are scarce but it is possibly going to be a mainstream phone, likely priced under Rs 20,000.
As for the price of the Realme Buds Air, currently there is no hint or indication from the company. For now it is only saying that the prospective buyers, if they are quick, can avail a discount of Rs 400 on the Realme Buds Air when it goes on sale. To avail this discount, Realme users will have to go to the Realme India website, go to Notify Me page for the Realme Buds Air, give their phone number, and share their activity on social media to get the voucher for Rs 400. Also, the offer is available from December 9-December 16.
Consumers who buy a Realme phone — Realme X2 Pro, Realme XT, Realme 5 Pro, Realme X or Realme X Master — between December 9-December 16 will also get a discount voucher worth Rs 400 for Realme Buds Air.
Given the value of the voucher, it is safe to assume that the Realme Buds Air will cost around Rs 5,000. The AirPods, even after the price cut costs above Rs 10,000, and similar is the price for truly wireless earbuds from companies like Samsung.
