For all those who have been eagerly waiting to bring home the 2020 Hyundai Creta, there is a piece of good news related to its launch. The Creta has been a very popular SUV in the country ever since its introduction here in July 2015. However, it has been facing stiff competition from the likes of Kia Seltos and MG Hector of late. In such a scenario, the next-generation Creta’s launch becomes all the more important for Hyundai Motor India.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be launched in India in mid-March, a report by Autocar India has claimed. The new-generation SUV will make its world premiere at the Auto Expo 2020, where only the exteriors of the vehicle will be showcased. The interiors will be revealed at the time of the launch.
The next-generation Creta has been spied testing on several occasions in India. The SUV looks bolder than ever with changes to the grille, headlamps and taillamps. It will feature a new set of alloy wheels as well. Based on the China-spec Hyundai ix25, the 2020 Creta will get features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, premium upholstery and panoramic sunroof inside the cabin.
So far as engine options are concerned, the new Hyundai Creta will reportedly make use of the powertrains that are available with Kia Seltos. Now, the Seltos comes with three BS6 engine choices — 1.5-litre petrol (115 PS and 144 Nm), 1.5-litre VGT diesel (115 PS and 250 Nm) and 1.4-litre Turbo GDI petrol (140 PS and 242 Nm).
At present, Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 15.67 lakh (ex-showroom). The next-generation Creta might be priced a tad bit higher than the current-generation.
