The Kejriwal government has given great news for those who have got a permanent driving license in Delhi. Now the long waiting period for permanent license in Delhi will be reduced.

Now the Delhi government has started preparing to make 8 more automated driving tracks. Tender for this will be issued in the next few days only. Let us tell you that at present, the driving test for permanent license in Delhi is being conducted only on the automated test track. At present, tests are being conducted through 11 Automated Driving Test Tracks in 13 zonal offices in the department.

Recently, Delhi’s Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that in the next three to four months, eight more automated test tracks will be ready in Delhi. This will allow more tests to be taken in a day, which will reduce the waiting period. Driving tests in Delhi are now being conducted only on automated test tracks.

Let us tell you that these eight new test tracks will be built in 6 ITI Center in Delhi. These test tracks will be built at Pusa, Jafarpur Kalan, Mayur Vihar, Shahdara, Jail Road and Narela. Along with this, these tracks will also be made in two universities of Delhi government. These tracks will be built at Indira Gandhi Tilly Technical University for Women and DTU Bawana.

In view of the long waiting period, the Delhi government has extended the validity of transport documents till December 31. The Delhi government has taken this step after more applications for the test came in for the last few months. At present, there is a waiting time of two to three months to apply for the test in Delhi. The Transport Department says that after the new track is started, it will take less time to make a permanent driving license in the coming days.

The Transport Department has introduced the e-Learner License facility under its faceless service model which allows an applicant to take a driving test from home or workplace. Now learners license holders in Delhi can book slots by applying online. The applicants are given slots to take the driving test without visiting any office of the department. After passing the test, the license is sent to the applicants’ address.
