Inaugurating this scheme, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that this will directly benefit 10 crore people of West Bengal and they will not have to stand in line for hours at ration shops. The dealers will also be given commission for the delivery of ration.
Ration dealers will get commission
Mamta Banerjee said that the government will increase the commission for ration dealer from Rs 75 to Rs 150 per quintal. That is, on the delivery of ration, the dealers will get a commission of Rs 75 per quintal. Inaugurating this scheme at Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata, Chief Minister Banerjee said, ‘This ‘Duare Ration Scheme’ will help 10 crore people of the state. I will request all the ration dealers to make it successful. Many states of the country are trying to emulate the plans of West Bengal.
Announced at the time of election
It is worth noting that this scheme was announced by Mamta Banerjee before the assembly elections held in March-April this year. Under this scheme, dealers will deliver ration to the homes of the beneficiaries. Not only this, the government will give financial assistance of one lakh rupees each to 21,000 ration dealers of the state to buy vehicles for the arrangement of providing ration to the people.
‘Food Partner: Amar Ration Mobile App’
In this program, Mamata Banerjee also launched a ‘WhatsApp Chatbot’ and a mobile application, ‘Khaya Saathi: Amar Ration Mobile App’ for the Food and Supplies Department of the state government.
